The Denemo project is looking for a better logo. Just 2 quick ideas:

Hm, I like the one in the middle. You could still put erm… whatever “Notenlinien” are in english (the lines you used in the first example) across that logo.
However, I think there’s much potential in that sketch, be it something inside the ‘D’ or creating a colored logo from it etc. 🙂
The solution may be to use a not-so-hackneyed musical symbol.
How about a logo that turns the final “o” in Denemo into a whole-note
(semibreve) and put a Fermata over it? This would link in with the idea
of denemo as a sort of finale or culmination. Or – is there a symbol for
Richard: the note/D symbol has the advantage that it can be used stand-alone, including as application icon. It may be “hackneyed”, but everyone who ever saw a few notes will have an idea what this is about. Not so with whole-note plus Fermata.
